Bantu Harmony Homes & Farm Activities | Makoyo Village, Makueni
You have stayed in hotels.
You have stayed in lodges. You have never stayed somewhere quite like this.
Bantu Harmony Homes are traditional-inspired, eco-friendly houses sitting at the edge of a working regenerative farm in Makueni County. Every meal at Makoyo Village is farm-to-table in the most literal sense. The plantains on your plate were growing on the farm this week. The vegetables were harvested this morning. Organic, seasonal, and prepared with the kind of care that only comes when people are genuinely proud of what they grow.
Fresh produce is also available for guests to purchase and take home.

EXPERIENCES

Farm & Nature Experiences
Best for: Families, school groups, researchers, agritourism enthusiasts
Walk a working regenerative farm and see how Makoyo Village grows food in one of Kenya's most drought-prone regions. Harvest plantains. Tour our community dam — the water system built entirely by hand that makes it all possible. Learn about agroforestry, water harvesting, and dryland resilience from the farmers who live it daily.

Wildlife & Conservation Experience
Best for: Families, wildlife enthusiasts, school CBC trips
Kenya has very few emus. Makoyo Village has them — and we are working to change that. Meet our ostriches and emus up close, learn about ratite conservation, and understand why protecting rare birds matters for biodiversity in semi-arid Kenya. This is not a zoo. It is a working conservation programme you can walk through.

Bantu Cultural Centre & Heritage Walk
Best for: Culture seekers, researchers, school groups, heritage tourists
Step into one of the most authentic cultural spaces in Makueni County. Explore artefacts, oral history, traditional tools, and the living stories of Akamba and Bantu heritage. Your guide grew up in this community. The stories are not rehearsed — they are remembered.

Events & Group Bookings
